Non-Destructive Testing

We offer a wide range of services, from NDT inspections on aircraft components and parts.

At Avotest, we specialise in providing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services in aviation maintenance and in compliance with standard AESA PART 145. Our NDT personnel are qualified to a minimum EN4179/NAS410 Level II standard or possess equivalent qualifications acceptable to the applicable airworthiness authority.

With us as your partner, you can be sure that we inspect your aircraft parts according to the highest possible technical standard, including quick turnaround times and world-class delivery performance.

Our NDT Methods

DYE Penetrant testing

DYE Penetrant testing

Dye penetrant inspection, also known as a liquid penetrant inspection or penetrant testing (PT), is a widely applied inspection method used to locate surface-breaking defects in non-porous materials.

By choosing penetrant liquid testing at Avotest, our clients are assured of a thorough and accurate inspection, supported by the highest quality standards in the industry.

Eddy Current

Eddy Current

This method generates electrical currents on the material’s surface, accurately revealing potential hidden defects or irregularities.

When using an eddy current test, our team would be able to determine surface and sub-surface abnormalities. Corrosion, surface inconsistencies and bolt hole issues.

We are approved to carry out HFEC (High Frecuency), MFEC (Medium Frecuency), LFEC (Low Frecuency), Conductivity Measurements and Rototest Inspections

Ultrasonic Testing

Ultrasonic Testing

Ultrasonic Non-destructive testing (UT) measures sound waves as they bounce off different materials. In most common UT applications, very short ultrasonic pulse-waves with center frequencies ranging from 5-15 MHz are transmitted into materials to detect internal flaws or to characterize materials. Any change in a material consistency will change the rate at which the sound bounces back. By measuring this echo, many potential defects can come to light.

BONDTEST INSPECTION

BONDTEST INSPECTION

Bondtest inspection of honeycomb structure and metal-to-metal skin aircraft structures. This procedure is used to find core damage and skin to core disbonds in metal and nonmetal honeycomb structure.

The Bondmaster 600M is a low/high frequency ultrasonic instrument that has four test methods of operation: the MIA, pitch/catch swept, pitch/catch impulse, and the resonance methods. All four methods can be used to test metallic and nonmetallic bonded structure.

PHASED ARRAY

PHASED ARRAY

A phased array system includes a sophisticated computer-based instrument that can drive the multielement probe, receive and digitize the returning echoes, and plot that echo information in various standard formats.

Unlike conventional flaw detectors, phased array systems can sweep a sound beam through a range of refracted angles or along a linear path, or dynamically focus at many different depths.

For these reasons, phased array systems can increase both flexibility and capability in inspection setups.
